Leather Goods

Inden Yamamoto, known for their leather craft from Yamanashi prefecture creates leather goods using Urushi lacquer with naturally dyed and tanned coloured deerskin. Deerskin was valued during the war period by the Samurai with its’ suppleness and strength and often used in war armours. The thick and bold textures of Urushi lacquered patterns take a few days to get completely dry in a specially controlled temperature and humidity room. This process enables the leather goods to last for a long time.
